smooo!

We've had an extremely eventful week. Last week was my last week of school which meant busy finishing up the year, packing my kids up and finishing of reports and other last minute bits and pieces. busy = little time to blog!

My mum also flew over from Melbourne last week to help pack up our old home as we had new tenants who moved in last Monday. When she flew back to Melbourne she took our little jack russell Rusty (affectionately know as "Smooo") with her. However, on Saturday we got a panicked phone call that Rus had escaped from my parent's friends place and was lost in Melbourne!

Thankfully, he turned up yesterday (a good 10km away from where he escaped!) and is now safe and sound back at home with a microchip and new registration tag. We are not taking any more chances after that little escapade!

Smoo, we are so glad you are back home! :)

so I said yes!

A year ago yesterday, the mister asked me to spend the rest of my life with him and I said, "Yes!"

Since then it's been one of the most hectic and crazy years we've ever had together, what with planning a wedding for 150+ guests (something I will NEVER EVER want to do again) and moving in together.

It's also been the most emotional, blessed and amazing year we've ever had.

We've been married two months today and I am loving every single moment of being married to my wonderful mister :)

it's the most wonderful time of the year

December has always been my favourite month of the year. December to me means summer holidays, my birthday and most importantly Christmas!

Christmas is my absolute most FAVOURITE holiday. I love putting up my Christmas tree while listening to Christmas carols. I love driving into the city and seeing it covered with decorations. I love Christmas music playing in the shops when I go Christmas shopping.

Most importantly, I love spending time with my family and friends and being reminded of how truly blessed I am to be surrounded by loved ones.

This will be the mister and I's, first married Christmas together and I am so excited! It's also going to be the first summer where we get to spend the WHOLE summer together without one of us having to fly off for overseas trips to see family.

Here's to a wonderful and blessed Christmas! :)

under the weather :(

This has been me for most of the last week. I have been down with a "respiratory infection" (official diagnosis by my doctor), which in reality means I've had an awful sore throat, runny nose, fever and cough.

Thankfully I'm starting to feel better. All I need to do is beat this last chesty cough which is always the last nasty part of being sick.

As a result of being sick I had to miss my class end of year excursion to Kings Park and SciTech which made me really sad :(

However, the mister has been lovely - cooking me porridge and herbal soup, putting up with my constant coughing and getting out of bed at night, getting up and praying for me at 3am because I felt absolutely miserable and couldn't sleep and even staying home with me on Saturday night instead of watching his favourite soccer team with the boys, even though I told him to go out as all I would be doing is lying in bed sniffling and sleeping.

I love my mister :)

Sunday 20 November 2011

love, love, love

The mister and I attended my beautiful high school friend's wedding yesterday and it was one of the most meaningful and lovely weddings I have ever been to.

The gorgeous beach side ceremony and the awesome reception filled with fabulous company (cherry hershey roulette anyone?), heartfelt speeches and a smashing dance floor made it a truly wonderful day.

Most importantly, you could see just how "meant to be" the bride and groom were together :)

To Alicia and Michael, may the road ahead be an amazing one filled with lots of laughter, adventures, great memories and most importantly love.

Sunday 13 November 2011

yay!!

The mister has been away in Singapore for the last few days, busy being a groomsman for his friend's wedding.

I've enjoyed having a little bit of me time but at the same time I have REALLY missed him.

I am so happy that he's coming home tonight! :D

10 reasons why I love being married...

  1. Having the mister kiss me goodbye every morning before he leaves for work.
  2. Doing up our home together - such fun!
  3. The mister cooking dinner 4 out of 5 weeknights - I know, I'm a very lucky girl.
  4. The mister's habit of always giving me hugs whenever I'm doing the dishes or brushing my teeth.
  5. Coming back from work to our home together and knowing the mister will be home soon too.
  6. Chilling at home just doing our own thing, but also being together at the same time.
  7. Getting to talk about the day we've had in person rather than over the phone.
  8. Going out on dates without having to say goodbye when the night ends.
  9. Falling asleep knowing the mister is right next to me.
  10. Getting to spend everyday - good days, bad days, ordinary days, extraordinary days - with my very best friend.

:)
